Im größten zusammenhängenden Waldgebirge Deutschlands liegt der heilklimatische Kurort Bodenmais. Der Hochwald reicht bis dicht an den Ort heran und erlaubt herrliche Wanderungen und Bergtouren in die nähere und weitere Umgebung. Es erwarten Sie eine Vielzahl von touristischen Attraktionen (Waldglashütte, Nationalpark Bayerischer Wald, Rißlochfälle) und vor allem die landschaftliche Schönheit des Bayerischen Waldes.

Unser Haus liegt im Ortszentrum an einem Südhang und gestattet eine herrliche Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge. Es liegt trotzdem sehr ruhig, da es sich am Ende einer Sackgasse unterhalb des Marktplatzes befindet. Von hier aus sind die meisten Kur- und Erholungseinrichtungen (Kurpark, Hallenbad, Sauna, Langlaufloipen etc.) in wenigen Minuten zu erreichen.

Situated at the foot of the Arber mountain (600 - 1456 m), Bodenmais is the most frequented climatic health resort in the Bavarian forest. It is famous for its beautiful landscape, the curative power of the climate, its excellent and reasonably priced cuisine, as well as many and varied leisure facilities.

Recognized by the State as a Climate Resort, Bodenmais lies in the middle of the largest continous German forest range- the Bavarian Forest- at the foot of the Großer Arber (1456 m).

Bodenmais is surrounded by marvellous forests (in part National Park and National Reservate) which reach down to the village. Its attractive position far from everyday noise and the pure forest air have turned Bodenmais into one of the most visited resorts in Bavaria.

The village of approximately 3.600 inhabitants offers 136 km of well-marked and well-maintained walks, the Silberberg and Arber chairlift, a summer sledge run, numerous tennis courts, a golf driving range, childrens' playgrounds, and a lot more entertainment facilities.

Our house is located in the quiet center of the village. From here all important and above mentioned spa institutions are in walking distance.
